I've been writing Haiku poems for decades but, with rare exception, they've been hiding in old journals and notebooks. As I "dig" them out (and write new ones), I'll post them on this blog along with a few longer poems. During 2011, I challenged myself to write at least one haiku poem a day to post on the blog. And I did.

Night Visitor
Night light comes on, Outside I see a possum And he looks at me.
I open the door which hits my big forehead hard -- No blood, just a bruise.
Where's the possum now? Hiding somewhere and laughing About clumsy guys.
