I've been writing Haiku poems for decades but, with rare exception, they've been hiding in old journals and notebooks. As I "dig" them out (and write new ones), I'll post them on this blog along with a few longer poems. During 2011, I challenged myself to write at least one haiku poem a day to post on the blog. And I did.
These things are beautiful. Alas, I cannot grow them. Most are not Minnesota hardy, a few are. But then there is the issue of soil acidity. Some people amend the soil with chemical acidity, but it's putting a square peg in a round hole. I have learned to take what mother gives me, and she gives me peonies and lilacs. And they give me much satisfaction.
